The Promise of His Presence

Lance Dannic

Have you ever walked through a season where God felt distant—even though you desperately needed Him close?

This week’s message, “The Promise of His Presence,” reminds us that Christmas is more than a celebration—it’s a declaration: God is with us. Hundreds of years before Jesus was born, Isaiah prophesied His coming, and His arrival fulfilled God’s promise to never leave us. Jesus is Emmanuel, “God with us,” and scripture assures us again and again that we never walk alone.

Pastor Lance explored the different ways God reveals His presence—His omnipresence in creation, His incarnational presence through the Holy Spirit within us, and His manifest presence that becomes visible in powerful moments.

The invitation is this: cultivate an awareness of His presence. Like tending the soil of a field, our hearts must be tilled to receive what God wants to plant.

When we lose our sense of sacredness, we lose awareness of God—but even in our darkest moments, He often shines the brightest. Through prayer, praise, and giving Him our attention, we learn to see Him face-to-face. And the more we encounter His presence, the more we are changed.

But His presence isn’t just for us—it’s meant to be shared. We are carriers of God’s presence everywhere we go. The world tells us to keep what we get, but the Kingdom says to give away what we’ve received.

God’s presence is what distinguishes His people, and He invites us to pursue Him, draw near, and share His goodness with others.
